I’mma do a mad throwback since it’s Thursday!

I scored 2 x free return tickets from Jetstar | #JetstarHappiness to fly to any destination they operated to before I found out I was pregnant last year. Our plan was to travel to Tokyo in March as Francis’ birthday treat, eat our way to the other parts of Japan and more importantly to witness the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Sadly, that plan had to be canned because baby decided to arrive in March!

We did think of still going to Japan for my babymoon, but I couldn’t imagine myself waddling across the Shibuya Crossing and to top it off I was already getting tired pretty quickly at this point albeit being only 5 months pregnant. Oh, and the bigger issue – I wouldn’t be able to eat all the sushi and sashimi that I have always dreamed of having over there.

So.. We decided on… Hawaii.

It was the perfect destination getaway (for a whale) although we were there the previous year for a wedding. We stayed at the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, Waikiki Beach where we had direct access to the beach but spent most of our time poolside because it was pretty impossible for me to get into a comfortable position. I totally get what beached whales feel like the poor things.

We didn’t realise until we got there that we were flying out on Black Friday. We thought we were going to be losing out but there were tons of sales leading up to it so it still did some decent damage to our bank account. Most of the stuff we got was for baby anyway (which she would grow out of within the next minute – not even exaggerating) so it was all good! It was a good thing we hadn’t started shopping before then for her because we managed to get everything on crazy discounts. My massive suitcase was filled with her stuff as I came with barely nothing thinking I would be shopping for myself. Boy was I wrong. Ala Moana Shopping Centre never disappoints – even if I had to miss out on shopping for myself!

Cafe Iyasume is a must when you’re in Waikiki. We practically had to have Spam Musubi every single day! It would be a sin not to have it when you’re there.

Okay. That is all. Wishing we were back in Hawaii right now!

I played tour guide to my crew who were visiting Bali for the first time during the June long weekend. We flew Jetstar and everything went smoothly. No delays, no long queues at the check-in counters and I had more than enough time to make a claim at TRS – just the way I like to travel.

Our entire flight went smoothly and before we knew it, we had landed at Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar. Our driver greeted us with a massive smile as we strolled out of the airport. AND boy were we were lucky to have been able to spot him standing amongst a sea of other eager chauffeurs awaiting their guests.

We set base in an amazing villa we found listed on Airbnb right smack in the heart of the happenings in Seminyak.

It had very modern, minimalist interior paired up with beautiful pieces of Scandinavian furniture. Our hearts sank the minute we walked in cuz we knew we would have to leave it in a couple of sleeps.

I’ll share the ambitious itinerary that I created (Pay attention to the notes in brackets!) below:

Planewonder does Hong Kong

Landed in Chek Lap Kok Airport (very) early on Friday but it already feels like I’ve been here for about 2 weeks despite only being here for 3 days in reality.

Not your typical Hong Kong view

I spent the first 8 hours on Friday working from home before it was time to head over to the Sheung Wan for dinner.

Mrs. Pound was a speakeasy restaurant chosen for our night time feed.

It’s always a treat being able to catch up with good friends in a different city, especially when nothing has been planned and when you find other out-of-towners visiting at the same time!

This speakeasy bar slash restaurant provided us with good food and the perfect setting that housed our good vibes for the evening.

Mrs. Pound

Post dinner, we headed to Racks MDB to have a couple of drinks after dinner (as we do) before I hopped over to a club opposite called Tazmania Ballroom for a bit of Hip Hop and R&B. The rest of the night was pretty much a fun-filled blur.

Woke up the next day and spent the entire day with my nieces and nephew before night time repeated itself. We had dinner at Ho Lee Fook; another go to whenever I visit Hong Kong. Food was on point. No surprise really.

Just order everything you can read on the menu. Trust a girl who likes to eat.
e.g. Me.

We then bar hopped until we ended up at Bungalow.

The night was fun as is every other night out about in Hong Kong is.

I spent the rest of my trip in Hong Kong focusing on work from home as any other #digitalnnomad working remotely would do before packing up and flying to my next city, Kuala Lumpur.

Till next time, Hong Kong

Never had I ever imagined that I would be visiting Hawaii one day. But that day came 2 weeks ago. Say what?

Well I had a purpose to visit to say the least. It was the destination wedding of an amazing couple who had invited us to attend. Of course, we couldn’t say no!

Enjoy a few snapshots of the places visited while on ground.

I was even lucky enough to catch a couple of waves in Waikiki the day before the wedding!

Cruisin’ down Kalakaua Avenue. Plenty of shopping that was done over there!

Check out Buho Cantina if you’re ever in Waikiki. Their tacos are ah-may-zing!

We did the Lanikai Pillbox Trail. Google mentioned the first 5 minutes of the track was the hardest. Thought to ourselves, “Yeah, right. As if”. It turned out to be true. Derp. We had to pull ourselves up using tree branches and whatever we could get our hands on because the 5 minute incline was just a muddy stretch. Our shoes got mad soiled, so a tip would be to not put on your best shoes for this hike. The rest of the hike was la-dee-dah! And once you’re up there.. The view is money.

We also visited Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck and Matsumoto’s Shaved Ice. Yeah. I don’t have any photos because I was busy stuffing my face!

Watched our last sunset beachfront at the Westin Moana Surfrider Resort & Spa with different live bands playing. Truly an unforgettable evening and trip.

Post of my next trip coming up shortly!

The Philippines had always been somewhere I knew that I would visit someday.

That someday came when my fiancé and I decided that we would make it our wedding destination.

The story as to why we came up with this decision is simple. His background is Filipino; although born, bred and has lived in Australia all his life. My mother on the other hand, comes from pure Filipino heritage but was born in Singapore and raised in Malaysia. Like me, visiting the Philippines was a someday-kinda-scenario for her too. What better opportunity to visit than to attend her daughter’s wedding?

My fiancé and I traveled to our wedding destination over the weekend. We both reside in Sydney but the only reason we booked this trip was because of the air fares we found on sale with Cebu Pacific. It was just too good to pass.

There are no direct flights to B Island, so we had to spend a night in Manila. We took the first flight out the next day aboard a small Philippine Airline propeller plane to its nearest airport.

Unfortunately, its nearest airport was not located on the island itself. So upon arrival, we rode on a Filipino tricyle to the jetty port that transferred us via a 10-20 minute boat ride to the island.

We got off on the island only to find ourselves hopping on to another tricyle that brought us on a 15-minute ride to our hotel. All I can say is that when you get to the beachfront, all-the-traveling-just-to-get-there instantly exits your mind and you are in awe of the white sands, clear blue sea and skies.

View From Our Room

Enjoy a glimpse of what we woke up to every morning. More to come shortly.
